Catch Me When I Fall
Sometimes the Lord's calling is so great, the flock move forward in numbers to be blessed, prayed over, annointed, etc.
Then our beloved pastors signal for more helpers.
That's when usherers (besides the ministry team) can help to be catchers.
Note: Always Be Careful - be alert, try not to stand in a position that will later cause you to sprain your back, be aware of your surroundings, and have fun serving our Lord! :)

The Sniper In Red
On an early Sunday morning, flocks of red creatures arrive and move freely around the santuary. Each one of them busily carrying out their task in unison whether exchanging handshakes or directing the flow of other herds to the sanctuary. Among the red creatures, one peculiar creature seems to be darting in and out of the crowds. Easily blending in and out of the surrounding just like a tiger prowling in the heavy undergrowth. Rays of light sparkled upon its cold glassy eye. Swiftly, sweeping the area looking for an unsuspected victim without blinking just a bit.

Upon the high grounds, the so-called red predator spotted a flock of its own kind moving up and down the rows of red solemn monoliths. Moving closer without attracting any attention, the predator slowly drew out its peculiar metallic weapon. Slowy moving its arm into position followed by rhythemic breathing to compliment the aim of the weapon. As the trigger about to be released, one of the glassy two-eyed creatures shouted out... "Hey, don't take my picture!". The predator replied, "Awww... come on, it's for memory-sake"... And that was how this creature is known to us till this very day...

How to Usher in a Church - A General Guide
Greeting people in a warm way makes them feel good about their presence in church. Be a great welcomer to the house of God.
Steps
1. Dress appropriately for Ushering. Dress as if you are going to meet with the President of your country because in fact you are in church to meet with the King of Kings.
2. Smile at all people that enter. Remember you are the "FRONTLINE", therefore you possibly will be the first impression of the character and spirit of the ministry. Ask if they are a member if they responded with no, thank them for coming and tell them you pray that they will worship with us often. Welcome church members by name if possible,(just being mentioned by name is always encouraging).
3. Welcome each person with phrases such as, "Welcome to service.", "Welcome to worship" and for visitors,"Thank you for coming today". When the visitor leave thank them for worshiping with us."Thank you for being here to worship with us.", and "This is the Lord's day, glad you are here to rejoice with us."
4. If you are required to seat people, try to seat them according to how the seating capacity is situated in the sanctuary already. You may also ask,if they were invited by someone particular(You can try, but not guarantee that you can sit them next or near by the individual(s). Concerning the elderly,remember some may have hearing difficulty, so ask if you may sit them closer to the front.
5. Do not sit people during prayers, scripture readings, and during musical solos. Have them stand quietly at the back until a time when they can be seated without distraction.
6. During the offering make your way to the back of the church to receive your envelopes to pass out in your section and get your assignment for the offering.
7. Always be on the lookout for distractions in the service i.e, children playing, drunk people in the service, etc., etc. If something distracting does take place use discretion and handle the situation in the best possible manner.
Tips
* know where the wash-rooms are
* please avoid long conversations
* have a nice smile
* make folks feel welcome and wanted
* hug or give a firm handshake when you welcome
