Ushers Annual Makan

The atmosphere was certainly different at Dream Centre tonight. :)

I felt a little disoriented when I saw a multitude of Ushers not ushering / greeting /shaking hands / frantically using hand signals to communicate with each other, but just staying put in their seats and enjoying the delicious buffet.

It was a night soaked in good fellowship and fun, as Dr Tham lead the way with games and had us all in stitches with his jokes.

Two Nuns (Some Parental Guidance Required)

There were two nuns...

One of them was known as Sister Mathematical (SM),

and the other one was known as Sister Logical (SL)..

It is getting dark and they are still far away from the convent.

SM: Have you noticed that a man has been following us for the past thirty-eight and a half minutes? I wonder what he wants.

SL: It's logical. He wants to rape us.

SM: Oh, no! At this rate he will reach us in 15 minutes at the most! What can we do?

SL: The only logical thing to do of course is to walk faster.

SM: It's not working.

SL: Of course it's not working. The man did the only logical thing. He started to walk faster, too.

SM: So, what shall we do? At this rate he will reach us in one minute.

SL: The only logical thing we can do is split. You go that way and I'll go this way. He cannot follow us both.

So the man decided to follow Sister Logical.



Sister Mathematical arrives at the convent and is worried about what has happened to Sister Logical.

Then Sister Logical arrives.

SM: Sister Logical ! Thank goodness you are here! Tell me what happened!

SL : The only logical thing happened. The man couldn't follow us both,so he followed me

SM: Yes, yes! But what happened then?

SL: The only logical thing happened. I started to run as fast as I could and he started to run as fast as he could.

SM: And?

SL: The only logical thing happened. He reached me

SM: Oh, dear! What did you do?

SL: The only logical thing to do. I lifted my dress up.

SM: Oh, Sister! What did the man do?

SL: The only logical thing to do. He pulled down his pants.

SM: Oh, no! What happened then?

SL: Isn't it logical, Sister?
A nun with her dress up can run faster than man with his pants down.

And for those of you who thought it would be dirty,

I'll pray for you!

What is an Usher?

The very *erhm* Formal Description of an Usher

An Usher is an official whose business is to introduce strangers, or to walk before person of rank, a forerunner and a doorkeeper.

A church usher is an officer of the church he or she serves. He/She introduces visitors to the church by having them sign a visitor's card. The church usher helps the Pastor to make the service a success by putting the congregation in the right frame of mind to receive the message. The usher meets the people with a pleasant smile, a warm welcome, and directs them to comfortable seats. He/She also sees to it that perfect order is kept in and around the church at all times during the services.

Ushers are forerunners, for they prepare the church for the guests by being the first to arrive at the church; they receive the order of the day from the Pastor; they see that the church is in proper condition to receive the guest; they see that hymnals, fans, church literature, collection envelopes, and any other items that are to be distributed to the congregation are in their proper places. Church ushers are missionaries for the church for they perpetuate the spirit throughout the congregation.

As Easy As 1...2...3!

For those who are unfamiliar with the Cbox in the "Yakkity Yak" section (and would like to have a go at it), here's a quick tutorial. (n_n)

The Cbox basically allows us to leave messages to each other online.

Step 1: Type your name in the column "name"

Step 2: Type your message in the column "message"

Step 3: Click on the "Go" button and your message will appear on the topmost part of the cbox
